Program Description

This inquiry seminar is organized around broad themes relating to school improvement, integrating instructor and student interest. It is an exploration of educational practices around the globe. Participants will engage in research to uncover and investigate what other educational systems such as Finland, the United Kingdom, and other countries of interest are doing relative to our school systems in the United States. Students will participate in extensive readings and in-depth discussions. Students will conduct, write, and present their own research on a specific topic connected to the overall theme. They will analyze and share findings during extensive seminar discussions, appropriate written products, and a formal presentation. The seminar may occur over 1 – 2 semesters. *This study- away experience is an optional and additional experience within the EDUC 788 class.
