Program Description

This Study Tour is available to all students and community members (with a
preference to students enrolled in HS 221). Traveling to Italy will provide students with the opportunity to experience a culture in depth, with a focus on foods of the area. To prepare, students will complete the course project on an Italian topic to be further researched in Italy. In Sansepolcro, students will learn to cook authentic
Italian food with a Tuscan cook. In addition, they will be able to experience the culture of the locals by exploring areas such as the Assisi and Perugia, Mueseo Civico, Anghiari and Arezzo, and the local street market. After being immersed in the local culture of Sansepolcro, students will travel to Rome where they can visit sites such as the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica, the Roman Forums and the Coliseum, and local landmarks such as the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Students will return to the US with vast knowledge of Italian food and culture.
