Program Description

Experience a City / Learn a City / Help a City as a City Service Mission
Immokalee is a vibrant community in Southwest Florida located about 40 minutes south of Ft. Myers. Many in the town are migrant farm workers which means the population ebbs and flows with each growing season. While on the immersion, the group will partner with local service organizations such as the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, Habitat for Humanity, and Catholic Charities and hear from various speakers on topics of immigration, homelessness, education, and more.
Sponsored by Catholic Campus Ministries: Newman Community. Open to all AU students. You must receive a verbal or written trip acceptance notification from Nate Ediger before beginning this enrollment process.
